200 Vatu celebrates independence day
In 1995, the nation of Vanuatu circulated a banknote commemorating the island nation’s 15th anniversary of independence in a denomination of 200 vatu.
The 200 and commemorative banknotes were used to use existing banknotes and overprinted with the words 1980 – 1995 and 15th Anniversary of Independence.
The banknote was printed by printer Thomas de la Rue, London. Signed by Sampson Ngwele & Willie Jimmy Tapagararua and very limited print run of only 2,000 copies. Currently, the price of this banknote ranges from 60 to 100 dollars per bill.
